Harnessing the Post-com enthusiasm

 


It's been a strange week and a half, with trauma and fun and sadness and inconvenience all jumbled up. One thing that I'm very happy about is that Debbie and I have managed to squeeze some fun into our week, despite everything that's been troubling us.

Some of the fun things we've done have been visiting friends, and spending time with them. Much of that time has been spent discussing Kapcon. We've also been discussing Kapcon at home and on Central. The post-con high is a very cool thing, and I like the idea of capturing it and turning it to productive ends.

The theme for the Kapcon 15 LARP, and the con as a whole, is Victorian. This is a period dear to Debbie and me, and one that should afford ample opportunity for fun. One of the things we wanted to do was to create an interesting Kapcon T-shirt, using a coat-of-arms, crest type image. This was in part inspired by Sam's 'Princess Empire' T-shirt. So, we looked around on the interweb for some inspiration, I took up a pen yesterday, and then spent a few hours messing with the resulting image in Photopaint. The result is:
