One panel comics

I am going to be drawing a few one panel comics in the next few weeks. It's a fun way to pass the time and has a high drawing-for-product ratio compared to narrative comics :-)

Which of the following pictures best represents my 'style' of drawing? I want to send a pic to Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine as a sample of my style, in case an editor wants me to do some interior art for them. They only allow you to submit one pic!

I think I might play with stitching together panorama shots in the coming months. Seems like a fun idea :-)

This week Debbie and I took advantage of the combination of good weather and Dom having an early nap to take a trip down to Wellington. We visited the library, Civic Square, the Civic Gallery, the waterfront and Te Papa. In about 90 minutes :-)

The exhibition at the gallery was awesome - especially the yellow room with black dots!

Merry Birthmas!

Dom's very fond of his birthday/Christmas present from his Grandma and Grandad! He insists on trampoline time at least five times a day :-)

 
 
 
 

Through a plastic bag dimly

Further to Debbie's post, here are 2 examples of camera-in-plastic-bag photos. The camera survived well, and you can see how much fun Dom was having :-) I am beginning to see the point of waterproof casings for cameras...

Dom heads out into the ocean.

Splashing your feet around is fun.Walking back out with Dad after a long time in the waves.Dom adores getting splashed by foamy waves and doesn't even seem to object to the large amounts of salt water he ends up swallowing. Jumping up and down and squealing with delight in the water as waves approach is tiring though. So is watching and holding him. Matt tried an experimental protective plastic bag for the camera but I'm not sure if we got a good pic of him lunging into an oncoming wave. Maybe next time.Wrapped up warm to head home.
He didn't even kick the towel off on the way back. Tired legs or glad of the extra warm layer?

He did look rather like Salieri to my eye as though he was prepared to absolve onlookers as he passed by.

Dominic is two!

This is slightly late, but I finally remembered to take the size comparison photo of Dominic aged two years and three weeks. That monster toy keeps getting smaller!

Fiction online

My story Solomon's Pearls is now available from Bluewood Publishing for $1.29, and I have plans to record an audio version some time soon, which will be free. Probably.

Debbie's story The Death Meter will be up on EveryDay Fiction on the 4th of January.

I've had a short story titled Waste Not accepted by AntipodeanSF for their March issue.

It's all rather exciting :-)
